Context of the work

The proportion of researchers who connect to social media platforms, lead discussions and publish contents, is increasing steadily. This leads to a more open and accessible research. However, this amount of new information also raises the question of how this output can be summarized and evaluated.

Objective & Task

Based on the developments of the Institute for Knowledge Management, a prototype will be developed in the context of the master thesis, with which the research posts in social media platforms (e.g. Twitter, blogs) can be recorded and provided in a searchable web visualization. In the theoretical part of this thesis, the issue of visibility and awareness of the research contributions of a university in social media platforms should be described. In addition, the prototype will be evaluated in a small study.

Requirements

  • Good knowledge of web programming
  • Interest in Social Media
